Wow, isn’t it amazing how your whole view of life can be completely turned on it’s head in the space of a week. I am sure this is a time when all Cantabrians will remember where they were when the earthquakes of 2010 struck for many many years to come.

Ashburton escaped with only minor damage and certainly nothing compared to those who have lost their homes and businesses in Christchurch.

It all sounds a bit trivial talking about new fabric in light of what has happened, however life does go on and sometimes sewing may be just the right therapy.

Some lovely reproduction prints from Windham fabrics have arrived in. These are from the Simpler Times range and you can check them out at

This week I would also like to show you this sewing bag and needlecase from Little Stitches which is available as a pattern $22.00 or as a kit for the Needle case $32.00 or a kit for the Sewing Bag $71.20. This includes the Prairie cloth and wool fabrics to complete the project.

This weeks Bolt of the Week is from The French General Rural Jardin range. It is a beautiful large print cotton linen fabric and is 54” wide. It would be great as a feature fabric in quilt, bag or as a skirt for summer. Usually $39.90, this week it is $29.90.
