Annie's Ramblings - 4 March 2020

Hi there. Another month has come and gone, and I hope if you were expecting a leap year proposal that all your dreams came true!

05.03.20 1In the meantime we have plenty of new sewing projects to keep you busy during the cooler days to come, including two new pin cushion kits from from Sue Spargo. These kits are $39.90 each and include all your wool fabrics and braids and of course the hard copy of the pattern so that you can make many more or use the design to make purses, quilt blocks, book covers and more.

At present we are sending out Block 12 of the Cottage Garden Threads BOM which has been hugely popular. This is the gorgeous needle case that is the project for this month.

Cottage Garden Threads have notified me that there will be a little delay before Block 13 arrives as the hanky linen that is used for the stitcheries is being held up on the wharf in China. I am sure we are all hoping that the current health crisis is resolved very soon.

I have been having a big tidy out of our storerooms lately and so there is a big suitcase of ex-shop samples out front at crazy stupid prices, so be in quick.

Don’t forget this Saturday is Woolly Stitcher’s Day and Sunday is our UFO day. More details on the website..........and last month’s winner of the $50.00 voucher from Annie’s is Norma MacLennan from Tinwald.

On to the recipe...this is a good one if you (like me), have been enjoying the summer barbecue season a little too much and have a caught a glance of your side on profile in the mirror..argghh!!!

Raw Energy

  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 large grated beetroot
  • ¼ c light vinaigrette
  • 2 tbsp each of pumpkin and sunflower seeds
  • Salt and pepper

Combine all the ingredients and serve on a bed of lettuce with cottage cheese.
