Annie’s Country Quilt Store is 20 years old, and I don’t feel a day older....well, actually sometimes I do, but what is important is that I still have the same passion for fabric, sewing, quilting, needlework and all things associated with that, as I did when I started on this journey. I have a great team and we are committed to being here for a long time yet!

On to the recipe....No birthday is complete without a special beverage, and I have been known to be partial to a glass of Sangria particularly on a lazy warm afternoon.

Sangria

• 2 c orange juice
• ½ c lemon juice
• 4 tbsp Caster Sugar
• 2 lemons and 2 oranges thinly sliced
• 1 bottle of red wine (it doesn’t need to be an expensive one)
• 1 L bottle of Soda Water

Disolve the sugar in a large jug with the citrus juices. Add in the red wine and soda and adjust the sweetness to taste. Serve with extra sliced fruit, mint leaves, lots of ice and sunshine!
