Annie's Ramblings 2 March, 2016

2.3.16 1Hi there, as you may have noticed in my previous email we are entering into a new phase at Annie’s Country Quilt Store as we take on the Bernina dealership for the Mid Canterbury area.  We are really excited about the changes and the chance to provide some continuity of service to the many new and existing Bernina owners in the region. BERNINA 5 Series

Rest assured I will keep you posted about our launch and the specials and promotions we will have coming up towards the end of next month.

In the meantime…………..we are working on making a little more room, so don’t forget to make the most of our 50% off all Christmas decorations.  We also have 20% all Christmas fabric and Christmas panels, and as was suggested on the Annie’s Facebook page the other day we should all “Keep calm and prepare for Christmas!”

If you have not found us on Facebook yet, take a moment to check out the photos, funnies and news there as we give you updates about what is new or just arrived in the shop, or the latest in the way of stunning quilts that our customers have just completed!  Visit our Facebook Page.

Just arrived in this week we are a number of lovely new books including offering from Gail Pan, Katja Marek, Jenny Doan and Kaffe Fassett.  You should also check out these fabulous new Kaffe carry bags which we have listed on the website at the special price of $10.00 while stocks last!

This week’s recipe is good for a quick dessert served with a meringue or a chocolate sauce.

Roasted Plums

  • 16 large plums (halved and stones removed)
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • Grated zest and juice of 2 oranges
  • 2 tbsp Grand Marnier or similar liqueur

Preheat the oven to 200 C and place the plums cut side up in a roasting dish and sprinkle with the other ingredients.  Roast the plums until softened (about 20-30 mins depending on the size or the plums and the ripeness)

Last but not least the winner of this month’s draw for the $50.00 voucher is Colleen McFarlane of Ashburton.

That’s all from me, happy stitching!
